If I paste an image into the background, then scroll away from it until it's out of the window, when I scroll back its gone...
Even if I only let half of it disappear out of the window, when I scroll back the visible half is all that is left of it.
Is there any way around this without using "Add Backdrop", so I can let it leave the window and then when I scroll back it's still there?

Well it's just that it's gonna be adding a lot of backdrops and it stuffs the game up sometimes for no reason

Actually... adding active objects "stuffs up the game", backdrops don't.

But I noticed that after I'd pasted 500 backdrops (which was the max amount of objects at the time) it started erasing them when they went off-screen, like they were all suddenly just pasted into the background. I raised the max amount of objects and the amount I could paste before the problem started again was also raised... So I set the max amount of objects to 20000 but I thought I'd ask if I could just somehow make the background pastes stay visible when they went off screen and came back again

The max amount of objects is also the max amount of objects you can paste into the backdrop. Keep the max amount of objects at 20,000 to keep it working. You can't make backgrounds paste into the background and stay there with scrolling, hence we use add backdrop

Thanks I'll keep the max objects at 20000. I'm sure in the end I won't need that much but just to be sure.
