Anyone else have it? I do. I got it with Wii Speak as well. It's awesome (in my opinion). There's a bunch of new stuff to do, and new stuff to get. There's even a new type of tool (type in the vein of normal and golden, the new one is...). So what I am doing here is asking if anyone else has it, and what they think of it. Also, it comes out tomorrow in Europe and here is my friend code for anyone that wants to come to my town. I believe it was released today in Australia.
My name is Jon (that's in the sig) and the friend code is 3051-1173-8012. Also, if you want to send me a message to my Wii Message Board, my Wii Address is 5393-7473-1648-7351. Hope some people respond to this thread with their codes.
I used to be, and was excited to see what Nintendo were gonna do with AC, but I feel let down. After reading several reviews I'm pretty convinced it hasn't changed much at all, which is just as I thought. I'm getting it for christmas hopefully, as I'm one of these people who likes to have the full collection of games, but I really think Nintendo could have done something more dramatic and new considering it's so popular and open for so many possibilities.
By the way are you sure it has new items and not just items you've not seen before? In a couple of reviews I read that it has no new items.
I know for sure that there is at least one new item, as I've bought it. It is the new tool type for the net. SPOILER ALERT!silvernet. There is also a new shirt called the blue hero suit, which goes with some others to be the hero set.
I think my sisters getting it for Xmas so I'll probably play the hell out of it too
But like I said in the other thread I really think the series works better on handhelds.
Id have liked to have seen a more organic setting, hills, cliffs with houses built in to them, tree houses etc, and trees that are big... They're all small and don't really help to give the game much character or atmostphere. Would have meant a more complex random generation engine but it would have been worth it
Obvious new features:
-City
-GracieGrace, a store run by Labelle the porcupine selling expensive lavish items
-Auction house (put up one item for auction and bid on one item)
List of new features that may or may not make it worth buying:
-Mii mask (the first one is free, I'm wearing one in my sig, also changes skin color)
-Take photos with the camera (everyone has one but you can only hold one pic at a time and it disappears upon saving & quitting)
-Send messages and photos to other Wiis, cell phones, computers (text may get messed up if you send a pic to a computer or email, hasn't happened to me yet)
-Shopping card for buying immensely expensive items (only works at GracieGrace)
-Silver tools
-Complain about other residents and get locked out (complain at the civic center)
-Make designs for free (edit them on the design screen)
-Make pro designs (edit front, back, left and right sleeves of a shirt, 350 bells)
-Play hide and seek with villagers
-New bugs (including bagworm and centipede)
-New fish (including pike, neon tetra, seahorse, and lobster)
-Villagers may ask you to send messages to other humans in town
-800 bell charge for emotions (four emotions offered each week, get all four whenever)
-Redd requires an invitation from another villager and 3000 bells to join
-Redd lets you send invitations to other humans
-New emotion tutor Frillard
-Prize man who sits in the city (gives out balloons, pinwheels, and bubble wand on random days)
-Kicks the Skunk shines shoes (either changes the kind of shoe you wear or the color, your choice)
-Cell-phone style keyboard
-Voice chat
Changed features:
-Cliffs return from Animal Crossing (missing in Wild World)
-Donations go to your town, not Boondox
-Resetti Surveillance Center (originally only in Japanese N64 Animal Crossing)
-Immediate access to bank account
-Hotswap tools
-Sahara now asks you to get old carpets from other villagers to trade in for her carpets
-Pascal appears on the farthest bridge and gives nothing to you without a scallop (which now washes onto the beach, if you have no scallop he gives you advice and jumps in the river to float away)
-Villagers immediately begin talking (instead of giving you the option to say never mind)
-Cabinets now hold 160 items (instead of 90)
-Infinite access to Katrina (in city)
-Infinite access to Redd (in city)
-Infinite access to Dr. Shrunk (in city)
-No more bottle notes
I know that the lobster at least is new, because I've caught all the fish and bugs in that game and gotten the golden rod and golden net. Sorry about the seahorse, just forgot about it.
You don't transfer the town, just the character. It's actually just copying the character name, face, and catalog ( Not including paintings, fossils, or gyroids ). The character and town still exist on the DS, its just like they're moving to a new town. Interesting tidbit, if you reset with one of these DS characters, Resetti will thank you for buying both AC:WW and AC:CF.
I use to enjoy the DS Animal Crossing, but after a while it quickly becomes tedious and boring. I really don't see much point to this series anymore.
What I enjoyed most about the Gamecube animal crossing was playing the NES games...
I was hoping they would let you play your virtual console games on ACCF, and maybe even let you buy vc games using ACCF, and you would get a discount of 200-500 wii points. But I guess not...
Plus I wish the game used the Weather Channel for the weather on it.

Go for it! It's definitely great! My only thing I'll say though, if you're a hardcore gamer you won't enjoy as much as a casual gamer...
You kiddin! To do well in the DS version I'd say you'd have to be mofo hardcore. I've put so much time into that and I only finished getting the final house upgrade in the summer

I was mainly talking about how you only play it for 30 or so minutes a day by casual.
Overall, the DS Animal Crossing is still my favorite, just because it was on a portable and I could bring it anywhere. But after playing City Folk it feels unplayable...
Sorry to "resurrect" but did anyone else get this yet? I got it for Christmas and I must say I've been sucked in again, although I really think it's the online mode that makes it fun to play, I only ever went online twice in Wild World.
Myself and Liam
That's another thing I like doing, taking photos
2278 0787 3290 is my town code for anyone that wants to add
The aurora! The first time I saw it, it was so... cool. I think it comes on random nights (or every night) during winter at 9:00 pm.
I've been online twice, once in Ambrosia (Mistah Bodgah's place) and once in my town, both on the same day. I saw three of his friends, one of which was Liam. He was wearing an orange hat (as in the fruit). I like to take photos too, but like the idiot I am, I save them on the message board instead. I have one of Resetti's place, a coelecanth, Pete the mailman, and the aurora. I have one that I sent to myself for my signature, back in fall (November).
I didn't get to see Jingle. We had to go to Kansas on Christmas Day and I missed him on Christmas Eve.
Yeah, did anyone else on these forums get this game yet? I'll add you Adam, once I'm done with my homework.
EDIT: Get this game, OldManClayton!
I've not gone online with mine yet... Infact I still need to rewind my DS's clock and celebrate xmas and new years all over again Just really not happy that I can't carry over my DS character because my AC:WW is a US import and the Wii one is Europe
darnit it guys now you are makin me want to get it to? Is it really that of an improvement over the gamecube version? Is there more stuff to do that keeps you busy?
Be sure to follow us on the twitters for the latest and greatest: @dailyclick
Yes it's changed the most since the gamecube version, it's very similar to the DS version though. So if you haven't played on Animal Crossing:Wild World, I'd say get it
Hmm... I'm suddenly interested. But it'll have to wait until me birtdee, because Christmas is over and I can't spend my money on anything but that laptop.
Hello, did anyone new get this game yet? Having some good times here in Ardtown. No one bought my auction item though.
Anyway, there has been talk all over the internet apparently about the Animal Tracks feature in the game. With this feature, the ground you walk over often will begin to wear down and look like a path. Some people, however, seem to have a problem with this feature, saying it turns their towns into deserts. Here's an example:
Is anyone here having a problem with this? I play multiple times a day walking everywhere and don't have a problem with it. Some areas are dry, but I still have plenty of grass left. Anyway, consumer warning for those who would refuse to play it like this. Also wanted to check for more friend codes.

I still need a peach tree and an apple tree before I will be content with shaking trees down for fruit money.

2,000,000?!! Dang, only got 684k. NEEDS ME SOME MONEY! I think we should all hang out together and stuff. And you should all go to the Auction House more often. I put up a brick block there two weeks ago and no one bought it.
My grandma called, asking if there were any Wii games I wanted since she found a senior's discount, and she suggested one that my sister said I would want. (that being Pikmin) She asked if I wanted any others and I told her I didn't know what all there was! Apparently she had called my sister, and Pikmin was the only one I'd be interested in.
I got home, and found out from the goof that Animal Crossing was also one of the ones she listed. -_- Oh well...
Tbh I don't I'd get it even if I had a Wii. It's just not my type of game. I prefer adventure, action, rpg, first person shooters, and some racing games.
If I ever get a Wii I'll get Super Smash bros brawl and Cave story first^^
