win xp hard drive check on start up

ive got an xp question. ive said "check hard drive for errors" and now win xp does a hard drive check when it boots. it takes fucking ages though and it shows up everytime i boot now. you know any way to disable that again?

um? where did you tell it to do that in the first place? id look there.
probably a setting in run->msconfig

on a command line run chkntfs /x [drive letter:]
so if your harddrive is C:
chkntfs /x C:
