No problem! I really do like the MOC-style of student materials but it really does necessitate PowerPoint slides and a projector (beamer). If you can't guarantee you'll have one, then it may be best to use a different template for the Student Guide.
If you're doing a day-long class, then I'd recommend a combined Student Guide and Lab Workbook. The single document would simply alternate information modules and lab material. If you expand the material to a full 5-day course, then it would be best to split the materials into two separate documents. If you do have a 5-day course, perhaps you could just take a projector with you to each class (if the school doesn't have one). If that were the case, you might be able to switch to a MOC-style of course materials. If you get the school to pay for one, it looks like you could get a projector for $500-$700:

If you want, I could put together an example of a combined Student Guide and Lab Workbook for you. I could put the example into two different templates so you'll have an idea of how the material looks in different formats. Neither template will be in MOC-style, though.
Considering the modules and labs you'd cover in a day-long course, what did you have in mind? Off the top of my head, it might be something like this:
Module 1 - Overview of TGF2
-- Main Screen
-- Editors
-- Properties
-- Objects
-- DEMO - TGF2 Interface
-- DEMO - Sample Game (to get folks interested)
Module 2 - Active Objects
-- Creating
-- Properties
-- Animation & Frames
-- Action Spot
-- Hot Spot
-- ETC
-- DEMO - Active Objects
Module 3 - Events Editor
-- Order of events
-- How events are processed
-- Special events
-- ETC
-- DEMO - Adding events (using objects created in Module 2 DEMO)
LAB 1 - Create a simple game (using graphics from a Teacher-supplied graphics library)
Module 4 - Advanced Events Editor
-- ETC
-- ETC
-- ETC
LAB 2 - Create another simple game (using graphics from a Teacher-supplied graphics library)
Module 5 - Creating Animation with Active Objects
(THIS MODULE MAY BE LESS ABOUT TGF2 AND MORE ABOUT CREATING ANIMATION)
LAB 3 - Create a simple game with student-created graphics (this should be the longest LAB)

Thanks a lot man, this is really helping me. For now I will stick to making paper readers (will make a student guide and a big teachers guide) as schools here are not ready to invest in this, so it has to be beamer-less for now. The school I ran this workshop was using the demo version of TGF2 and it will already be hard to talk them into buying licenses for TGF2/MMF2 for the next workshops.
