Welcome back, I vaguely remember you from years ago at this site, well basically just remember your name, but yea It's nice to have people come back to the community.
Thats made my day , and makes me feel old. It's also true . There is even a post from the dude that ran iklik (peter) thanking you
I found Peter's email years ago when iklik closed and asked if we would let me have the forum db and site so I could get it running on a new server. He never replied, then I seem him trying to sell it on some webmasters forum... Not much point now for 3 people .
Yeah, he first tried selling it to Steve Harris for a pretty outrageous sum, then disappeared. The domain name is now available but I guess there's no point setting it up again. It would be the Fontainebleau Hotel of klik.
GB will get a lot bigger and better soon. An Iklik-it regroup for a game sounds good. But we have to get Jenswa out of prison, talk Rycon out of his job and marriage and find out where heck Buster and Ashman are.
Hah, I'm surprised I still remember a lot of the names from the old days.
Anyway, welcome back. I think klikers are a bit more mature now, though it kinda depends what you mean by mature. You'd be hard-pressed to find even one person trying to use trigonometry in their games 5 years back, but a lot of people are going that way these days. That line between amateur game making and real coding is blurring more these days
Disclaimer: Any sarcasm in my posts will not be mentioned as that would ruin the purpose. It is assumed that the reader is intelligent enough to tell the difference between what is sarcasm and what is not.
@ Hayo: Hahaha. you forgot tomatoman! There was also vegenad as well. Shame Buster and Ashman are missing . There is somebody on facebook with Ashmans name (if i remember it right from his games), and he is even australian. klikking is an odd thing, very hard to give up. I brought MMF2, but have yet to use it in anger... Only used it for a few bits of software for my studies (serial object is a godsend ).
Getting all iklikkers active could be the premise of the game...
@ Muz: Cheers Muz. To be honest its not maturity in game making that bothers me - just a good atmosphere in the comnmunity to be in. That is something Iklik-it.com had, and I think most of us was using inbuilt movements back then or very crude custom movements - well that was my level of expertise then anyway . I'm not saying inbuilt movements are good (they really stink), just that it was just fun and nice to make games in that community back then. Its hard to explain why iklik-it was so good but it was . I should right some articles, my skills in maths have come on leaps and bounds whilst doing my masters and now phd.
I am also working with a guy from your country, if i remember your country right
haha i kinda gathered that back then . I can remember a HUGE thread on the boards with me and him talking about cars - me pro car and him anti car. I guess the netherlands public transport system does not smell of or contain urine .
My friends just been to Amsterdam, said he really like it especially for the 'herbal' roll ups , purely for medicinal purpouses of course. I went to germany last year - the only bit of Europe I have been too... People thought i was german too
Public transport is pretty horrible here. His idea of travelling without a car was me picking him up all the time. I pointed out this meant twice as much driving and he is getting his drivers license now
haha I have a green friend (as in enviromentalist type guy) and his idea was the same, me picking him up on way to work even though it meant more driving . He is also learning to drive now.
I guess public transport is horrible everywhere then... I dont think people would mind it so much if it was reasonably clean and not so awfully slow. Getting to uni was 15-20 mins in my car and 1 hour 30 on bus sometimes more.

Oh man don't I know that . My university travels involved me walking from one city to another. Sometimes the whole trip would take up to 2 hours. But I guess thats what iPods and DS's were invented for.
Only took an hour in the car through city traffic.
