Hi everyone! My name is Brice, and I've been a TGF/MMF user forever and longtime fan of everyone's stuff here on The Daily Click. I have since become a professional game designer and have started making some helpful videos for others interested in game design.
So, I thought I would share them on here, since everyone here has been so generous with their games over the years. If you're interested, enjoy!
Also, feel free to leave any comments or suggestions!
Great stuff there! It reminds me of some of the tips and tricks you'd hear in a college-level game design class.
I never thought of breaking down my games into "layers" like that, but now that you mention it, it's a handy thing to know if I ever feel like the gameplay is lackluster in some spots. Heck, I could already think of a few layers to stack onto your star-clicking game to extend its lifetime: Changing the background whenever the counter reaches 0, adding a system of lives (so that the game isn't immediately over if the player misses a star), adding a local high score system, adding an online high score system, etc...
See, this is one of the reasons I love making games so much. Literally endless possibilities with what you can mash together, even in a simple afternoon.
Wow... I never thought of it that way! That's really cool how you put all of that into an example, and you seem to have skills teaching and wording things. Congrats, mate! That's quite a nifty tutorial!
That's the best game design tutorial I've ever seen. I rate it 5 stars and a sun
A lot of the other stuff on your site are also interesting. Just these little bits should help klikers make games that are twice as fun.

You could try to post them as an article on TDC. More people will read them that way. But a video tutorial is good too. Maybe put like an article with a bunch of video links related to the topic.

Wow, that's a really good, straight forward way of looking at game design. I'd never thought of it that way before. Also, I'd really like to know how you inbeded the video into your post. I really wonted to do that with my ray-casting example.
