I have two DualShock 2 controllers and a USB gamepad converter, and I'm configuring my current game to support them. Here's the situation...
Button 1 - Triangle
Button 2 - Circle
Button 3 - X
Button 4 - Square
Button 5 - L2
Button 6 - R2
Button 7 - L1
Button 8 - R1
Button 9 - Select
Button 10 - Start
Button 11 - L3
Button 12 - R3
My question is are all DualShock models configured this way? I don't have a DualShock 1 or 3 so I have no idea. The reason I'm asking is if other people are using a different Dualshock model, and the configurations aren't the same, then the controls will be screwed up, and that means some pretty extensive coding to get everything right...
Thanks for any help!

A better question might be, will enough people have a USB converter and a Dualshock 2 for it to be worth it?
I know that doesn't answer, sorry. >_>

You'd be far better off just using an Xbox 360 controller. They're natively USB and fully compatible with Windows and the Joypad extension can fully utilize everything on it including rumble.

Yup. It supports both left and right tumblers too. Though the one is soft and rapid and the other is hard and rough. HA. That's what she said. Oh I slay me.

I have the USB gamepad converter too. I have some PS1 dualshock controllers and PS2 dualshock controllers, no idea what dualshock version they are.

Just make a setup application so people can map controls the way they want. Is not that hard to do and you can reuse it in other projects. Guessing is not a good idea.

Cool, I have two unused dualshock 2s as well. I might want to buy one of those converters. Where might I get it?

@Watermelon876: This works great. http://www.amazon.com/Playstation-2-PC-USB-Gamepad-Converter/dp/B000F6BGXY/ref=pd_sim_vg_4
Totally forgot about this topic... But yeah, I can definitely add customizable controls. The game's on hiatus atm, tho.
