I have been trying to make project page thing for Midget Machines, but recording the game in Fraps drops the frame rate from a super silky smooth 60, down to a horrid 35 to 40 (which of course makes the game look approximately 1/3 slower). This game is very very demanding on PC's...
Any advice for recording it? Desktop PC is a quad core (which has no problems running it at 60 with VSYNC on), so upgrading is something I do not want to do anytime soon  .
Tempted to get my tripod and camcorder set up haha

Is there any way you may be able to duplicate the display on a different output device, and then record from that instead (not using Fraps)? The key may be in using your camcorder...see if there's a direct-in that can go from your PC to the camera.

Fraps sux, use Camstudio.

Cheers dudes - camstudio did prove the best (which surprised me!), it will do until I can get a better way of capturing video .

Other thing you could try, if you felt comfortable, is to send parts of the file to another community member and see if they have any better luck?
