What is The Daily Click's policy on submitting remakes or fangames? Will such material be rejected?

Considering the fact that a few Flappy Bird clones were just accepted... I would say no, it would not be rejected.

I'm not sure the Flappy Bird clones set a precedent, due to the differences between a clone and a remake. I think that a clone may copy a game idea but would usually have original graphics and music, whereas a remake would reuse the assets from the original game. Is there a points penalty for having a submission rejected?

We've had plenty of clones and fangames in the past. Many of which won Game of the Week (back when we had such a thing.)

Perhaps I am being overly cautious, but these examples are still fangames, not remakes. Of the names at the bottom of the homepage, whom should I contact to ask about this?

I promise your game will be approved. If it isn't it won't be because it's a remake.
Those names are out of date now since some of those users are no longer admins.

I wanted to start a 'Good fangame' competition some time ago. Mainly due to how fangames were quite often pretty bad. Dunno if it's worth trying out sometime.
