Do custom platform engines really do anything else? I mean, if they did... they wouldn't exactly be platform engines...

Congratualtions! I made one recently (well, it's mainly Shen's, but I changed the jumping and some of the collisions). Can you do anything special in it?
Interesting, people actyually look at topics which are named "not interesting".
Anyway, it has advanced a bit since my first post, now it includes:
- Classic movement i.e left/right running.
- Jump ( have not added jump-strenght yet, I will though)
- Mid-air jump ( Will add j-strenght on that one too)
- Gliding i.e Wawing your arms in the air for a slower descent.
- Ground pound (Smashing down into the ground from mid-air giving a cool eartquake effect on impact)
- Crouch ( not very special but important)
- Roll ( Rolling at a high speed to give one a chance at an extra long jump i.e MegamanX)
- Climbing ( Ladders)
- NO BUGS (yay) and a very cool scrolling engine.
A wonderful part is that everything runs smoothly, no collision bugs, no animation glitches and such.
I´m honestly damn proud.
I will probably upload it when its finished, but I still need to add a few things to it like Jump-strenght, moving platforms and - if my programming-theory (which can be viewed in the comments on the "Pause game" article) is correct - a pause engine.
