I'd like to get a bit more info on internet copyright, as the copyright most people say they have on game and images isn't official is it? They didn't go down to the patent office or anything did they? So if they found you using something they have 'copyrighted' what can they do about it?
Well I know in the United States (don't know about other countries) you can just write (C) then the date, then who copyrighted it (name or business) And no one can steal your idea and sell it. Its only valid for 5 years I think, and doesnt have as much power as the (R) registered which you register at the patent office. Thats valid for I think 50 years, and can be renewed. I'm pretty sure you have to pay for it as well.
Oh yeah I forgot to answer what you can do if you find out someone stole your copyrighted product. You can sue them and they will have to pay you some amount of money.
Anything you make automatically has a copyright on it, and if anyone stole something from a copyrighted product, you can sue them, and you must be able to prove that it was you who made it.
No one can steal your idea and sell it. They can still take your idea though, as long as they distribute it for free...(I think)
I'm not sure about GFX/SFX/Music.
Any loser who rips anything without consent, is complete trash and is deserving of unethnical ways of smiting. lol. I guess it depends on the situation though.

You can't really copyright/patent ideas, but it works that way if you patent the first game that uses the idea. Take Counter-Strike. There's literally tons of better games with the same idea out there, but everyone still plays CS.
