ya I was just wondering what makes a good adventure game? Is it the puzzles or the gameplay or maybe the story?
LucasArts makeds awesome adventure games saome examples being Monkey Island and Grim Fandango...
recentally thou I have bought some adventure games by www.dreamcatchergames.com and I really enjoy some of there titles. At radio Shack today I got one of there games for 2 bucks Canadian...what is that like 2 pennies American??? This is an awesome game!!! I love it!!!!
lol...but I guess my point is more to do with the DC adventure games mainly the recint ones such as WildWest Act 1 or the Asian Travel ones.... What makes people want to download them but not mine mine...lol...admins don't seem to want to put it in the news ether even thou it won a Random prize :S....I was just wondsering for the future and if you want download it or check it out...cause I think its fun

im downloading your game to keep you happy, im not even very fond of adventure games, i think im the only one to hate THAT NIGHT BEFORE. but i think any game should get a decent download, cus i know whenever i actually upload something ill want plenty of reviews, so oneday Kenley Browne you may be able to repay me by playing a game ive made.
cheers
'oh yeah? he's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?'
I looked at your game Kenley, the Dijibouti one & on the verge of downloading it soon afta Novabrain's Adventure is finished. It looks pretty good, I download most adventure games of this site, most of which are point & click. The one that impressed me the most was That Night Before, I liked it so much I'm alongside Scurvyliver and helping with future games and stuff. Others are One Step from Reality, Ignac and Fate of Monkey Island, okay the list goes on but I won't stand here bragging about them. But what makes me download them is most of the authors are Lucasarts fans and Sierra fans. I'm as big as Monkey Island fan as you are Kenley, (world of MI is back! woohoo!) and if it wasn't for them I proberly wouldn't be that big of fan as adventure games.
BTW, your first adventure game IIRC, the monkey island one, wasn't so great IMO. It reminded me of two many other fan games using the same Guybrush sprite, and also the controls were pretty crap, immense improvement is needed for that game.
The Wild West one was pretty shite IMO, it might have been my slow computer which caused the ultimate slow scrolling, I F4ed myself out of there, but it looked like a good game, the creator needs to do some tweeks to the game to make it better.
But overall, I only download games which are remind me of the Lucasarts games, I download a few others aswell and I'm also working on my own game, est. release 2061!
The best adventure games are platform games cleverly disguised.
And Beneath a steel sky, that was awesome. So was Sam and Max. And the feeble files. Generally, humour is a key factor. A game that makes you laugh keeps you going-and with sam and max there were side mini games, such as highway surfing (you are on top of a car and you have to dodge signs) and the games you buy in the service stations, such as car bomb (their twisted version of battleships), colour max (an odd colouring game) and dress up (you get to dress sam and max in odd outfits).
And Broomie let me asure you The Legend of Djibouti is all origanal graphics, a point and click interface, and more... except Im not too sure what the more part is yet But I thank all of you who have taken the time to dpownload it and post

hmmm like i sed i downloaded your game but i think it still needs A LOT of work:
- even tho the graphics are original they look very sketchy, but id still prefer bad original than good ripped, so tops for the effort.
- you need to work on your adventure engines, and a huge point id like to make to you is use a text box, i cant read half the stuff because i dont know where its gonna pop up, its like playing wheres wally?
-overall the game isnt very original and its so short its barely a demo.
this game makes that night before look even better, but im sure if you put a bit more time into it you could make a decent adventure game just dont rush it, you cant make an RPG in a week and the same goes for adventures.
cheers

TNB is magnificent. The Thod games are nice. Other klik games worth mentioning are Treasure of Drunk Island, Beware of the Aliens, the Fate of Monkey Island games, MI-2: Lechuck's Revenge and Ambrosine's many games.
- Ok, you must admit that was the most creative cussing this site have ever seen -
Oh yeah, Ambrosine made some pretty decent games, her best one was proberly Monster Manor. And Treasure of Drunken Island, though I didn't like the graphics that much. I liked Thod but didn't really like the interface that much.
Kenley: It's a pretty good game, I'm enjoying so good job. It shows a large improvement from your MI game.
