I have a nice little idea for the mail feature on DC.
There should be 3 folders for mail to be stored.

1: New Mail (This is were all new & unread mail is.)
2: Old Mail (This is were all the old mail that you want to keep but don't want to have added the the little mail thing on the My Daily Click bar to the left.)
3: Sent Mail (This is for all sent mail, this would also be useful for when you sent something, but want to keep it for future refrences. )

Thanks for reading, I hope these features are added.

i'd like a record of all the mails i've sent, but the whole idea might be quite heavy on the DB.

Why? The mail system is good as it is now.

"Sent Mail" is probbably possible with just nifty SQL.

But "New Mail" would require adding a new field to the DB. Which isn't taken lightly

...And "Old Mail"? Why not just copy the old message, save it in notepad and delete the DC version?

Good idea... but not worth the effort. The DC mail thing was supposed to be just a simple thing.

What would be a better idea is if the DC offered free 1000 KB email accounts for members. Then maybe I can get that muz@create-games.com email address I've always wanted.

Old+New mail I _did_ concider when I first started coding the site back then.. Trouble is its really quite server intensive which would probably mean slower page loading times, not to mention that the database would have to be downloaded, site closed, and reuploaded again.. though it is doable, I'll think about it for the future. Sent mail would be rather a large strain on the server again, the database is quite huge for what it is already, and the larger its size, again unfortunately, the slower the pages load. As for deleting, I'll add checkboxes you can just tick rather than having to delete each one on its own, shouldn't take too long to do that. Once I get my other computer back up and running i'll get started on it

tickboxes would probably reduce server stress too, since the 'delete' script is only being called once
