Such game im guessing could be made with MMF, its not like a Programming language or anything, put it this way MMF is Probably the easiest game maker to learn, and its very Powerful. I think you should buy MMF and give it a go.

Have an explore around the demo first, of course. It's easy enough to pick up as it's more what you would call a "multimedia authoring tool" than an actual language. (Well, you would if you were being a bit pretentious.)

thanks for replying, can you help me with this...i have been messing with the tutorial and got o ok.if i were making a very simple game just one frame to do just one set of isructions ie the game shows a number "501" the player inputs his "score" from 0 to 180 the game sutracts 180 from 501 then displays the result "321" the player inputs his next "score" say 100 the game subtracts 100 fro 321 and displays "221" this keeps repeating until the player inputs exactly the score required to leave 0 the game dislpays game over. this seems pretty simple but for me just getting started is proving very difficult ie how do you input a value into the game via the keyboard rather than say inputing into the game vie movement of the mouse. if you can help me i would be very grateful. ps i have ordered the full version of mmf maybe prematurly but pretty much on impulse!!

If you're new to game development, it's good to start simple simple and build up from there. Try making a few simple arcade games first like Pong or Space invaders. Then you can try more advanced stuff like simple platform games or simple bird's eye view adventure games. Then you should have enough experience to make a more advanced game with custom player engines and enemy AI.

Doing what tim wants i think is quite simple, first off click on the Button "Insert an Object" which is located on the toolbar. now look for the Object "counter" now double click on this and click to insert it. now do the same but this time insert a "Edit" object. this is for inputting information, the counter shows information.
this is your first start, now from here goto the "Event Editor" and from there mess around with it, see what you can come up with. thats the best way to learn MMF.

If you're new to game programming, I suggest you start off with The Games Factory. It's a lot easier to learn. I only used MMF after using K&P (an old version of TGF). But since you've already seen the program and ordered it, I guess you should be fine with it.

Oh and I suggest you take a look at Klik Academy. I forgot the link to it but it's on the Clickteam website. There's also another resource thing Clickteam hosted, but I forgot where that was too.

And since you just recently joined the site, I suggest you stay away from Ashman for a while. I think he may be rabid.
