I was confused when registering, was putting "Domarius" in the Username field, and "Clint" in the Name field.

I had to assume UserName meant DisplayName, and Name meant my RealName.
I kept getting the error message "The name you have chosen is already taken". Without actually telling me what name that was, so I thought I couldn't register as "Domarius".
I kept trying multiple times, after searching the forum for the name "Domarius" and getting 0 results every time.

So, since it is actually THE OTHER WAY ROUND, the names of the fields should be "User Name", and "SCREEN Name".

But while we're at it, why have two names? Can't you just have a "User Name"?

"Want to ask something about the site? Or you have comments good or bad? Then this is the place to do it in."

That forum description gives me the impression that feedback is welcome. Pardon me for trying to help. What's the problem?

It did seem rather harsh, Pete - I thought it was a reasonable observation.

I agree with Domarius. The name system is.....gay. Why not just have one name?

No no no, not "gay". Annoying, certainly. I don't know, it's been over a year since I registered - I can't really remember.

I must say, I was fooled by the odd name box set up upon registration. When I was asked to enter my name, I assumed it was for a profile that you could view when clicking on my username. I had no knowledge that it was to be my name when viewed by everyone else when I posted anything. =O

Well I like having 2 names, but I agree the "Name" should be retitled "Screen Name"

Thanks Clubsoft. I don't consider myself to be a newbie internet user, having used it for nearly 7 years now, and I just thought that if I got so confused about it, it might be causing other people some trouble too.

To get any display name you want simply place &nb-sp; after it. Like my name is really Brad&nb-sp;  but browsers read &nb-sp; as a space.

(Note remove the "-" from "&nb-sp;" if you want it to work, the forum keeps changing it to a space too.

That was not the response of all the admins, Paul - only Pete said anything remotely resembling that. The problem is, apparently, being fixed.

its probably easier to log on with a name like bob instead of for exampe: Paul (Heretic Emu Studios). you can then just use that as your "name"
