I want to play a video that will be partly covered by an another object, kind of framed by another object. I cant do it. I tryed direct show and video pro object but they always want to be on the top layer, i cant put them behind other objects. They have primative framing options but i want to make something that looks a bit better. Does anyone have any advice? thanks sayajjin

I don't think it can be done... I just tried it with the layer extension and couldn't do it...

But, all is not lost, I only know how to work the basic functions of the layer extension object.

I suggest you download the layer object from http://click.spatang.com and play around with it...

(it allows you to send objects to back / front etc. in more advanced ways than standard MMF send to back / front.

Edit: AsparagusTrevors post wasn't there when I started my reply

I just thought you were answering my question. I didn't know whether the Layer Object could do it, and I couldn't be arsed to check cos I haven't got round to reinstalling everything on my new hard drive.

it cannot be done. you can try some other tricks maybe, like using a subapp to cover.. thats about the only way i can think of in mmf atm.

Clickteam really wanna be sorting that out in a patch or at least in MMF2. Hopefully, cos it'd be a nice thing to be able to do.

MMF 2 will have layers, right? So you would be able to do it

im not technically in the know about windows, but the AVI, and other things like LIST object work using WINDOWS. mmf will operate below these. so layering will not help at all.
i mention using subapp, because this will use its own "window" to operate above your original.
