Is there any extensions that allow the coder to make the screen brighter and darker like the Palette object did?

Can't say I know any. But that would be useful for daytime/nighttime games.

The Pallete object is in MMF, im assuming you mean an Pallete object equivelant for "Windows XP" seeing as it isnt compaitable with XP.

Well from what i hear theres a Private Extension developer that "may" be releasing hes lighting extension which from screenshots shows that it doesnt drop the FPS of the game much at all and looks great and also Chris Branch might be working on a lighting extension but im no too sure about that.

I always like to use loads of transparency and ink effects, they don't work any good under 256 colours.

any game thats ryb in 256 colour on my computer has the colours inverted. very ugly. just use 16 million, but only use a 256 colour palette, makes sense.

DaveC04 - No it doesn't. The application still uses memory and diskspace as if you were using 16 million colours. So the app will slow down on computers even if there are only 256 colours present.

do you think i dont know that...hah. i mean, for the sake of being true to the snes limitations you would make up a 256 colour palette and only use them.

The SNES could only display 256 simultaneous colours, but it could use 32,678 overall.
