Because the now extended release date for Poob, I felt like I should at least release something in the summer, so I redone that Primary Heroes engine and re-worked it and have made something new: Robomouse Squeak.
Its going to be a game where you control a wind-up mouse that by plugging himself into the three different coloured sockets can give him new powers. (HigherJump/Bullet/SpinCharge). Through out the 25 levels there are coloured gems. You have the Clear gem at the end of the level or if you collect all the small coloured gems (Yellow = 1, Red = 2 and Blue = 5), the Magic Green Gem shall appear and then can be collected. (The Green Gem is usually hidden or had a different location than the Clear gem)
Shall contain over 25 levels. Each having different challenges and settings. Settings shall include:
Jungle/Plains
Mechanical/City
Mountain/Sky
Volcano/Caverns
Castle/Dungeons
Desert/Tombs
Shall be an original genesis styled back-in music with genesis styled sound effects.
ENGINE: 95% (always room to put something else in)
LEVELS: 15%
MUSIC 70%
OVERALL: 40%
Just as a little treat 'ere is a test play of the engine so far.
>.< Vitalize don't work =(
'Eres a zipped version:

(Controls)

SHIFT: Uses special power
CTRL: Cancels special power
UP (near a socket) : Gives you the special power.
(BLUE SOCKET : Allows you to jump)
(RED SOCKET : Allows you to fire a bullet)
(YELLOW SOCKET : Allows for a shield and charge attack)
(GREEN SOCKET : Allows you to fly. (When flying you can't move left of right))

Well I wasn't going to do this as an update, but because I've uploaded the video and stuff I'll just share it. I actually made the video for my friend who is beta testing the levels. (Shes ranking on how hard they are) And she got stuck on this one. It was originally the 4th level, but now its going to be pushed back to the 7th or 8th.
Thank you for all your comments on the new look. I've taken in all your advice and ideas on board and I think I'm going to stick with these graphics.
I've also been designing levels, and I've got three done so far: Totem Recall, Trees A Crowd and the new themed one: Plain Sailing.
This new theme is based on Pirates. Yarr! Lol
'Ere are some pics.
I think this level is rather hard, so it might be moved to the second world. (Not sure yet, I'm gunna ask my girlfriend to beta test the levels when she comes down next.)
Secondly I've added a new type of level gem to require: Time Attack Challenge. Once you've completed the stage, a clock shall appear at the start, touch it to start the timer. The timer starts at 60 seconds and ticks down. Collecting time boxes adds seconds onto the clock. Once it hits zero the gem at the end of the level gets destroyed. (Therefore requires you to start the challenge again)
Finally, I've added a bonus section which includes the remainder of the gems. (Jump on a green box at the end to get teleported there.) However if you die, you'll won't be able to get back to the area. This adds some more difficulty to collecting all the gems.
Righty 'ere is a new demo is out. (Check it out on the download page when it gets accepted.)
In the meantime, 'ere is some pictures of the first level: Totem Recall.
As you can notice, I redone the graphics a tad bit and resprited Squeak. New HUD and the "Sparks" have now been changed to gems. *Must confess though, I did use gem sprites from HighSeaHavoc =P*
Btw thanks for the front page, but better edit it because it's changed slightly =P
