A newish pokemon comes out in march. It looks pretty cool. But.. I saw a 7 year old kid come in to the ice cream store the other day, playing pokemon. I'm almost 21, ;_; am I getting to old for this? Anyway, it looks cool and will probably buy it.
youre never too old for pokemon. although i think they should stop making it.
i passed by cartoon network midday (never anything good on during the day) and it was like pokemon the movie #13. are you kidding me? theres been that many movies!?
pokemons 1 - 151, gameboy red blue and yellow, the original BASE card set, the first seasons with the original characters, and the first movie. if theres been 13 movies i cant imagine how many series, spinoffs, seasons, card sets, games there has been.
Pokemon was a brilliant game. I honestly stopped caring after the first generation of Pokemon. I had memorized them all and I felt like I was back to square one when suddenly all these little brats who were younger then me, knew about over 100 new Pokemon that I couldn't be bothered to remember. That was the turning point where I sort of lost interest.
See im a pokemon noob, ive only ever played a tiny weeny little bit of yellow. So im probably one of those annoying brats brandons on about because im likely to buy it and play it lol and then memorise all the new ones ;_;!
I stopped being majorly interested after gold and silver, there were so many more features. And what ever is in that video looks terrible, with the invisible platforms appearing half of it looks like guess work.
I'm surprised it's still around! Usually fads fade out, but Pokemon has hung on. I think everyone calls pokemon stupid, but secretly loves it. I wasn't allowed to play pokemon or watch the cartoons when I was little (and I can see why) but I still enjoyed my share. Someone gave me fire red and I enjoyed it.
I agree with Cecil. Some things you just never get too old for.
X) I can't believe how many different movies and seasons of the show there have been.

3D adaptations always introduce some gimmick or gimped version. I have yet to see a good 3D console adaptation of a 2D game that either just ported 2D well or did a new 3D version right.

Nintendo knows that the console versions are cack, thats why they give out rare Pokemon in them in a shallow attempt to entice players.
That said I'm guilty of getting the Pokemon Ranch because it's one of the few ways to get a legit Mew

I don't think it's a fad, I think it's a really great game. In fact, Pokemon is the only RPG I like. All the other stuff, show, cards etc... only exist to milk more money out of the franchise (not that there's anything wrong with tha. Nintendo would be dumb not too).

I thought pokemon snap was good. I only played the first stadium and didn't like it because none of the pokemon touch each other, and there's no blood
Nintendo are taking the piss lately, though. They seem to have wasted a lot of potential, with Animal Crossing, Pikmin and Wii Music. Animal Crossing was hardly any different to Wild World, Pikmin is a GC game with Wii controls and Wii Music has had a lot of bad reviews. They just seem to be money grabbing for doing very little at the moment.
Edit: I kinda liked Pokemon Snap, too Although Mew was fairly easy to take photos of

Pokemon in it's prime!
The first season of pokemon... so magical... I'm still waiting for them to make a game that captures that magic. 3D, open world (was it Kanto or something?), pokemon frolicking in the wild... aaaah, it's still my idea of a perfect game. I played up to Emerald and started to find it soulless, too much about numbers. I think there was one episode where they mentioned pokemon having 'levels', too, and it didn't seem right to me. POKEMON ARE REAL CREATURES, NOT ROBOTS I need a pokemon game with a heart!
