Hi! I'm new here but I've brought news with me! I am currently underway of working on a Sonic fangame using Multimedia Fusion, and even though the fangame has no name nor does it have a plot just yet, It's shaping up just nicely...
Game Features:
+ Choose from five different characters: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow and Rouge
+ Game boasts a custom movements and grinding engine coded by Dr. Robronco, which has been greatly modified for increased performance, less bugs and more moves to execute such as the trademark Spin Dash attack
+ Special in-game graphical effects include grinding friction light, grinding spark particles that bounce off the floor and a "Blue Blur" effect that leaves a trail of blue blurs behind Sonic's jumping and rolling movements
+ The MIDI music are external files, allowing manipulation for pausing in-game music or speeding it up when Speed Shoes are obtained, and more
+ Choice of three display modes:
- Normal: Actual resolution display (320 x 250)
- Double: Doubled resolution display
- Custom: Stretch screen to your preferred size
+ Special Stages!
Here are a bunch of screenshots to check out! Please copy and paste the URL to the address bar instead of clicking on the links!
I am also asking for help on this fangame project, you can help me in any way possible (graphics, actual coding, ideas, etc.), but I am also looking for help on the following...
STORY PLOT
Need a good plot, something interesting that may involve certain characters or whatnot (maybe something to do with Chaos, for example), but not too unusual, stupid, pointless or something Sonic Team would NEVER think of to put in THEIR games (like "Sonic somehow gets fused with Tails after an accident".. you get the idea).
GAME TITLE
Unlike most or all Sonic fangames, this one doesnt HAVE to have a title relating or linking to game-specific plots (like Sonic Adventure, for example) But as long as it's a good otherwise "catchy" title I suppose it doesnt matter all that much
SPECIAL STAGE CONCEPT
Ok, I REALLY wanna come up with a Special Stage idea for my game without copying something similar from other fangames.. Oh sure, it could be the same or usual goal to earn the Chaos Emeralds (collect rings.. hit blue spheres.. just reach the Emerald.. blah blah..) But how would the Special Stage be presented? I was hoping it'd be a unique idea that I can throw some 3D image trickery into, like most 2D Sonic games out there (I like Sonic Advance's "surf through an air tube" concept but it's done and dusted now so forget that..)
Like I said, any additional help is welcome. If you want to help me in any way, please contact me from one of the following:
e-mail: meleekirby@hotmail.com
MSN Messenger: meleekirby@hotmail.com (same address)
AIM: KLRBY85 (copy & paste screen name to buddy list)
Any help will be appreciated! Please leave comments and feedback!

I think I covered this with my George W Bush/n00b joke picture, ok guys?

Melle Kirby, because you are new on the DC, I must tell you some things:
1)Nobody likes fangames. Everyone HATES games with ripped graphies, but you have done your own gfx, so well done.
2)Ashman is a pervert. Avoid him at any cost.
3)Download Streambolt and Zone Runner 2! NOW! NOW! NOW!!!
I got alot more pics where that came from Wizard, don't piss me off man.

"Sonic somehow gets fused with Tails after an accident" - Sounds like a really bad fanfiction D-¦>
Anyway, I don't see the problem with fangames as long as they're done well and not just a standard Click platform game with ripped graphics. This seems to be good so far... haven't seen it in motion yet, of course.
id like to see someone concentrate their efforts on getting the basics just right in a sonic fangame before they try grinding and multiple characters
ive made a sonic engine with loop support, you can only go around loops one way but it works and everything else works fine.
you can search for it if you want
1. I am not a "n00b", I just came here to share my MMF-related news
2. This fangame is really meant to be something I'm making for another community known as SFGHQ (Sonic FanGame Head Quarters)
3. The only reason I ever posted this here was because a "friend" of mines who is a TDC user adviced me to tell the people here about it, as he thought it looked impressive.. So I come here, and look at how people welcome me >=(
I am not the kind of person who can do something totally original, and quite frankly I was unaware that this place IS 100% devoted to creating original games and ideas. As the website's name implies, it is a community all about making games using the "Click" products, and that's exactly what I am doing. I followed my friend's advice seeing he is a regular user here, and because of that I thought what I was doing was the right thing. I had no intention to do anything wrong but this is such a warm welcome from a bunch of idiots who treat me like a fricken fool just because I came here, wasted my time to register an account and bothered posting about something I've been working so hard on for the last few weeks.
Fangame or no fangame, it's a product from a "Click" tool none the less, and with that said, give me some dignity and respect for working on it, and dont welcome me with pictures mocking me or simply trying to make me look like an idiot.
Now don't get your panties all in a wad because a couple peopole weren't particularly nice to you. Fact is, most people hate fangames, and noone knows if you have any abilities or not because you haven't posted a game yet or been around long enough to otherwise prove yourself.
If you can pull this game off, it looks like it could be a lot of fun. For the special stage, I think you could probably pull off the Sonic 2 3D zones with a little bit of work. While you can't do sprite scaling, MMF does allow for 128 animations per object, which basically equates to 128 levels of depth. Throw in a little fancy coding and trigonometry and you've got yourself a simple sprite-scaling(ish) engine.
Though I havent been around here long enough nor do I have any playable demos for the game or whatnot yet, I can say that the game engine is running pretty smoothly; I am quite a whizz at MMF coding so I can safely say I know what I'm doing.
If you wait patiently for long enough, I will have a little demo or engine test for the game released so you can see how it runs
MMF "Klik" Master in the making!

well Melee Kirby, i think the only person who was openly nasty to you was ashman, and as wizard said, you have to ignore him. DC isn't about making _original_ games, like you say, it's about making games. but we have no control over the type of games people like... if the majority of our users don't like fangames, then that must be accepted. personally i don't have a particular problem with fangames, but originality is always nice, and something i think people should strive for. anyway, those screenshots look quite cool and this game could be enjoyable if you pull it off. just don't be disheartened by ashman.
